The Beauty of Natures Transience

Rianne is constantly looking for the beauty of transience. A transience that, in the end, connects everything and everyone.

Her images seem to capture something primal and timeless in nature. They feel both real and subjective. And consist of often unnoticed objects that, under her watchful eye, gain an almost magical presence. She is looking for something just beyond our normal way of seeing: something unknown, something strange that feels familiar at the same time.

It’s All About the Essence

As with her portraits, this work is deeply personal and intimate.

Each object seems to come alive. Rianne does not focus on how something looks, but on the spirit within the subject. Her work is sensual, expressive, and strongly intuitive.

Experts praise her work for the balance between light and dark, and the intense emotions it brings. Her images invite you to slow down and wonder. They touch you, without being intrusive.

With her series Wonderlijk, she gained recognition as a finalist in both the FEP Awards and the DuPho SO Awards 2024. The jury described the series as confronting. The images evoke a sense of discomfort because of their form and movement. That’s what makes them strong. They almost look like drawings, as if made with a graphite pencil, which adds an extra artistic layer. When you look closely, you see every detail. The series invites you to use your imagination.

Her recent work, fragments of the human body, is woven together with the organic forms. This combination deepens the sense of confusion, the familiar becomes unfamiliar.
