I grew up in a large family with a small budget. I quickly learned to be resourceful: if I wanted something, I simply made it myself. For example, with a good dose of imagination and any materials I could find, I crafted my own Barbie dream house.

For my wall sculptures, I work with wood that originally had a different purpose and with leftover materials from other projects. These inspire me the most and challenge me to explore new possibilities. During the creative process, I constantly weigh my options. What can stay, what needs to go, where is a small adjustment needed?

In my work, geometric shapes and color are central. The former is a perfect expression of my desire for structure and connection. The latter is where I find the space to play and experiment. Colors are allowed to clash and pop! The goal is always to create a new whole where all parts are so connected that harmony emerges.
