Ramon Otting

Ramon Otting

For the painter Otting, the landscape is an immense source of inspiration. The landscape reflects our state of mind, is pleasant, can heal, or gives rise to contemplation. Otting's work is all about nature and what it does for us humans. This interaction is essential. An almost physical ominous threat is present in many of his landscapes and seascapes. Sometimes in dark and stormy skies, sometimes in overwhelming brightness. The superior power of nature compared to humans, who will always lose, is palpable.

Otting's work increasingly focuses on building the wholeness in nature. From low viewpoints and the use of terroir and earth from the place where he finds inspiration, Otting shows us the beauty and richness of form and color in nature. The looseness of his painting combined with his sculptures opens up his work even more and strengthens the power in the details.
